Our principles
Rooted in Islamic values, open to everyone.
Kas D’atay’s principles are built on the essence of well-known Islamic rules on money, trade and content. They’re values many people share, whatever their faith, and anyone who shares them is welcome here.
No interest, and no credit
We never hold creators’ money, so we never earn interest on it. Every payment goes straight into the creator’s own payment account, with a trusted provider such as Stripe, and it’s paid out to their bank on the schedule they choose.
Supporters pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. We don’t offer buy-now-pay-later or any other kind of credit at checkout, and we don’t lend or advance money to creators.
One clear fee
We take a fixed 2.5% of each payment, for the service we provide. It’s stated up front and taken once, at the moment of payment. There are no monthly fees and no hidden charges. Founding creators pay nothing for their first six months.
Card processing is charged separately by the payment provider, and we say so wherever fees are mentioned. If our fee ever goes up, creators hear from us first.
Honest giving
Support on Kas D’atay is a personal gift for someone’s work. It isn’t charity, and every page says so, so supporters always know what they’re giving.
Clean content
Every page is reviewed by a person before it goes live. There’s no adult content of any kind, and nothing that sits uneasily with the values above.
A shared responsibility
These principles cover how Kas D’atay works. Each creator is responsible for their own content, and each of us for our own obligations, religious or otherwise. The details of what can and can’t go on a page are in our content policy.
We do our best, and we won’t always get it right. Think we’ve got something wrong?
