Let an AI assistant set up your page

If you use an AI assistant that can work in a web browser, it can set up your Kas D’atay page with you. It works with browsers and agents that support WebMCP, and with agents that use our API. They use the API or the WebMCP tools, not your browser. We can’t promise it will work with every assistant.

  1. 1Point your assistant at kasdatay.com and ask it to set up your page.
  2. 2It asks for your email, then we email you a 6-digit code. Read the code from your inbox and give it to the assistant (or let it read your inbox, if you have allowed that).
  3. 3It fills in your page address, name, one-line description and bio. It asks you for a photo or logo, your links and, if you want one, a goal, and it checks what is still missing until your page is complete. Then it sends your page for review.
  4. 4Once your page is live, it can fetch the button code for your own website. You can also copy it yourself from Buttons & widgets.

You stay in charge. Before the assistant saves your page, sends your sign-in code or sends your page for review, you are asked to confirm. You set up how you get paid yourself: Stripe asks for your identity and account details, and only you should enter them. An assistant can’t approve your page, change what you are paid, or pay for anything.

Don’t share your sign-in code with anyone you don’t trust. It signs in to your account for 10 minutes.

Prefer not to confirm every step? Make a setup key instead:

  1. 1Sign in. The first screen asks how you want to set up your page: choose “Let an AI assistant set it up”. (Later, you can find the same thing in Integrations.)
  2. 2Read what the key can and can’t do, tick the box and choose Authorise key.
  3. 3Copy the key (we show it once) and paste the instruction beneath it to your assistant. It can then finish your page without asking you at each step, and one key covers all your pages, and you can watch each page’s progress on the same screen. The panel then shows a green “Key active until” line with the date and time, how many days are left and a Switch off button, and it shows it again every time you come back. If you lose the key, switch it off and make a new one (you can have up to 3 switched on). You can switch to setting it up yourself at any time.
  • It can: save your page details and the rest of the page content (photo or logo, bio, links, goal, thank-you wording and the other things in Settings, Page), add images with captions to your Gallery and remove them again (up to 12, the same as you can), add your PayPal email if your page is paid through PayPal, send your page for review and get your button code (it should only put the button on your site once you have connected payments: until then the page can’t take a cup). Until your page goes into review it can also change your address, name, country and currency. It can change your button wording until the page is sent for review and again once it is live (the same as you can in Settings), but not while the page is in review; we email you when it does. It checks what is still missing and keeps going until only the things that are yours remain. If our team asks for changes, it can read their comment, fix the page content, and send the page for review again.
  • It can’t: change your page address, name, country or currency once your page is in review or live, change your button wording while your page is in review, confirm your country for you, touch your bank or Stripe details, see your supporters, their emails or what you have received, delete anything, make other keys or approve your page. A person at Kas D’atay reviews every page.
  • It stops working after 7 days. You can switch it off any time in Integrations, and it stops straight away.

If your assistant sends something that does not fit, such as a link that is not a web address or a bio that is too long, our reply names the field, says what is allowed and gives an example, so it can fix it straight away without asking you. Links can be sent as a list of up to 6 web addresses, each starting with http:// or https://, and your page shows each one by its website name, such as example.org. A link that does not work is left out and the assistant is told which one. The exact limits for every field are in the guide.

An assistant should use our API or WebMCP tools only. It should not open or control a browser, take screenshots, click or fill in web forms for Kas D’atay. If something can only be done by you, such as connecting Stripe or confirming your country, it should tell you instead of trying the website. When it has done everything it can, it tells you what is left for you.

Connect Stripe waits until you have confirmed your country yourself (one click on Yes in the Getting paid panel, or the tick next to the country in Settings), because Stripe follows the country. An assistant can’t tick it for you, and a country it sets or changes always needs your confirmation.

If another of your pages already gets paid, the assistant’s setup state says payoutsCanBeShared, and it asks you to press Use the same payouts as that page in the Getting paid panel. Only you can press it. See Use one payout account for all your pages.

Under the key you will also see Download for my assistant. It saves the key and the instructions as a file, in JSON, Markdown or plain text, for an assistant that accepts files: pick whichever your assistant reads best. The file is made in your browser, so we never see or store it. It holds your secret key, so treat it like a password, only give it to an assistant you trust, and delete it when you are done. If it ends up somewhere it shouldn’t, switch the key off in Integrations.

A setup key is for your whole account, not for one page. If you have several pages, the assistant reads your list of pages and sets them up one by one with the same key. It never reaches a page that is not yours. You can still switch the key off at any time.

Already have a page, and want your assistant to make another one? It uses the same setup key: no new email, link or code. It makes the new page itself, up to your page limit, and your other pages are not touched. An account can have up to 3 pages unless our team has set a different limit, and on a normal account the first page needs to be approved first.

Only give a setup key to an assistant you trust. Anyone who has it can do the things above until it expires or you switch it off.

An assistant that has no web browser can ask for its first setup key itself. It asks us to email a 6-digit code to your address. You read the code from the email and give it over (or you forward the email if the assistant can’t read your inbox), and the assistant sends it back with a yes that you agree to the terms. The key it receives works for 24 hours instead of 7 days. It also works for a page that is already live, where it can change the profile content (the tagline, bio, price of a cup, photo and the other page details), so only share the code with an assistant you trust. Nothing signs the assistant in to your account, and the key can only do the things listed above. You can switch it off in Integrations, and you still connect how you get paid yourself. The details for assistants are in the guide.

If your assistant won’t read a code or agree to terms for you, there is a way that needs no code at all: it asks us to email you a link, called “An AI assistant asked to set up your Kas D’atay page”. Your assistant shows you a short match code, like “tulip-47”, that is not in the email. Three steps: open the email, press Review the request, type the code your assistant showed you, and press Approve. That is all (there is no box to tick: pressing Approve means you agree to the terms and privacy policy, and the page says so). Under the button, “What this lets the assistant do” lists what the key can and can’t do. Opening the link on its own approves nothing, and “That wasn’t me” stops the request (it works until the assistant has collected its key). If you did not just ask an assistant to set up your page, ignore the email: it expires in 30 minutes. We also email you when the key is handed over, and when it changes your PayPal email, tagline, bio or price, with a link to switch it off. The assistant then receives the same setup key, valid for 24 hours, and can’t touch your payouts or supporters. Only approve an assistant you started yourself. The details for assistants are in the guide.

Moving from another platform? An assistant can bring your name, short line, bio, links and photo over for you: it gets a preview from us (we read GitHub Sponsors ourselves; for Liberapay, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon and Gumroad it asks you to paste your own words), shows it to you, and saves only what you confirm. It never reads your supporters. See Import your page.

Assistants that can’t use WebMCP can read the plain steps at kasdatay.com/llms.txt. See also Signing in with Google or a code and Add a button or widget to your website.
